April 4th, 2017 - Ultraviolet Visible Fluorescence Imaging Workshop

9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston


NECA and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston will be hosting Jennifer McGlinchey Sexton, photograph conservator and developer of the Target-UV, for a lecture and demonstration of the target and the repeatable UV-imaging workflow. 15 slots have been earmarked for NECA members at a cost of $75 per person. If you are interested in signing up for this workshop please send an email to Maggie Wessling at mwessling@mfa.org to reserve your spot and coordinate payment. Membership must be up-to-date in order to register for the workshop. Details on the content of the workshop and schedule are below:
 
Summary:
This workshop will introduce the principles and use of the Target-UV system for standardization of UV-visible documentation. Through lecture, demonstration, and applied practice, participants will learn an imaging workflow specific to the Target-UV including white balance, intensity, image capture and post processing. Alternate approaches will be discussed, with opportunity for input and questions. Background information on radiation sources, filtration, and other issues specific to UV-Visible documentation will be covered. All equipment will be provided by the instructor.

11:00-12:30         Lecture continues
12:30-1:30           Lunch
1:30-4:30             Hands-on demonstration of UV imaging workflow in Riley Seminar Room
